SENIOR OPEN TOUR - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS


WHAT IS THE SENIOR OPEN TOUR?
The Senior Open Tour is owned and operated by DCI Golf, a division of DeSilva Communications, Inc. The Tour was established in 2013 to provide quality stroke play golf events for Senior Pros and the Best Senior Amateur golfers 50+. Professionally organzed tournaments are scheduled throughout the year with a Members Tournament of Champtions held annually.

The Tour has Two Separate Divisions:
1. An Open Division for Seniors & Super Senior Professionals.
2. An Indexed Division for Seniors & Super Senior Scratch & Amateur golfers.

The Tour has Two Age Divisions:
•  Ages 50 - 64 Senior Division
•  Ages 65 & above - Super Senior Division

WHO CAN JOIN THE TOUR?
Membership in the Senior Open Tour is required and open to ALL senior male golfers who are 50 years of age and over on or before participation in any given Tour event. Senior/Super Senior Professional Golfers compete for a Cash Purse. Senior/Super Senior Amateur Golfers compete for MC Gift Cards and/or Prize Vouchers and must have an active, verifiable USGA/GHIN Handicap Index of 0-15.9. Senior Amateurs only compete with other golfers in their Flight and at their same skill level.

FLIGHTS & YARDAGE:
• Senior Professional Division: Approximately. 6,300 - 6,600 yards
• Super Senior Professional Division: Approximtely 6,200 - 6,400 yards
• Amateur Championship: 0 - 3.9 index, approximately 6,200 to, 6,400 yards
• Amateur A Flight: 4 - 7.9 index, approximately 6,000 to 6,200 yards
• Amateur B Flight: 8 - 11.9 index, approximately 6,000 to 6,200 yards
• Amateur C Flight: 12 - 15.9 index, approximately 6,000 to 6,200 yards

WHAT DOES IT COST TO JOIN THE TOUR?
There is an Annual Membership Fee to join the Senior Open Tour. Membership is based on a Calendar Year. New Members joining in November or December, will have their first year membership valid through those months and the following year. Tournament Entry fees for each Senior Open Tour event is based on each particular golf couse, number of rounds and time of year.

DO I NEED TO JOIN THE SENIOR OPEN TOUR TO PARTICIPATE IN TOUR EVENTS?
Yes. Golfers who wish to join the Tour may play in a Single Event as a Guest, prior to joining the Tour. Tour Members will receive the lowest tournament entry fees and be eligible to participate in the Members Annual Senior Open Tour "Tournament of Champions". Non-members must pay the non-member entry fee at each Tour event. Amateur Senior golfers wishing to participate must have a current, verifiable USGA/GHIN World Handicap Index with a minimum of (8) scores and a peer review capability.

WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE A CURRENT USGA/GHIN HANDICAP INDEX
Amateur Golfers wishing to join the Tour who do not have a USGA/GHIN World Handicap Index, can obtain a GHIN handicap through the Senior Open Tour. Applicants must submit atleast (5) recent scores with courses and tee markers played. If accepted, these golfers will be provided with a USGA/GHIN World Handicap Index and flighted for play, Amateurs who do not have a handicap may also choose to play in a single Senior Open Tour events as a Guest, prior to joining the Tour. However, Amateur Guest Players are not eligible for Prizes. Guest players can enter and compete in the Opional Skins Games.

HOW DO I REGISTER FOR A TOURNAMENT?
Visit: www.SeniorOpenTour.com/tourevents.html, select the tournament you wish to participate in and Click to download the Player Entry Form. Entry Forms for each event are posted approximately 2 - 3 weeks in advance. Tour members can participate in any Tour event regardless of which Geographic Division they are in. You can also visit: www.SeniorOpen.DCIGolf.com and click on the desired tournament.

WHAT DO I WIN?
Professionals: Prize Money for Professionals is established prior to each event with the amount dependent on the size of the field. The Tour will pay 1/3 of the field. Prize Money is paid out to Senior Professionals who have a Form W-9 on file with the Tour. Prize Money is paid out at the conclusion of each event.

Amateurs: Amateurs in the Indexed Division can choose to receive their winnings in the form of MasterCard Gift Cards, Non-Cash prize vouchers or Cash. Amateurs wishing to maintain their Amateur Status with the USGA must be in compliance with the USGA guidelines and receive their winning only in Prize Vouchers. Cash for Pros or the value of each MasterCard Gift Card/Prize Voucher is established prior to the event with the amount dependent on the size of the field.
